"Parts" by Tedd Arnold




Standard: 2.4.1 Identify parts of the human body that can be used as tools- like hands for grasping and teeth for cutting and chewing.

Objective: Students will be able to demonstrate and display how the body can be used as different tools.


Activity Description: Students will scan the QR code and listen to the read-aloud performance of "Parts by Tedd Arnold. After reading the directions that are listed on the board. The students will use the circuit pen to test the different questions about body parts. At one end of the pen is a clamp. The students will put the clamp on the pieces of foil to test whether it is the correct answer to the question. For example, "What can I do with my hands?" The three pieces of foil that the students will clamp to are kick, grasp, and build. The one that lights up the pen is the correct answer to the given question. They will read, answer, and check every question on the bulletin board.

List of Materials Needed: Yellow paper for the background, letters for “Look what my body can do!” A drawn operation man, foil, circuit pen, tape, paper, construction paper, questions to ask the students, 3 answers to each question.
