Board
Elephant and Piggie are ready to get healthy by being active
everyday!
Standard: HW.1.7.1 2007 Describe healthy practices to
maintain personal health and wellness.
Objective: Students will use the Elephant, Piggie, and sports
equipment cut-outs to simulate and practice the types of physical activity in
which they can personally engage.
Activity description: The bulletin board features Elephant
and Piggie from Mo Willems’s award winning books, as well as a variety of
cut-outs with Velcro of sports equipment such as a soccer ball, a skateboard,
roller skates, a basketball, a jump rope, etc. If possible, the physical equipment
items will also be included near the board. The students will place the
equipment on Elephant and Piggie and then use the real equipment to play.
