Pizza Curse
















Are you Hungry? Welcome to the Pizza Curse!
Standards:
MA.4.1.6 2000:
Name and write mixed numbers, using objects or pictures.
CCSS.Math.Content.4.NF.B.3a:
Understand addition and subtraction of fractions as joining and separating parts referring to the same whole.
Objective:
Using manipulatives, students will demonstrate their understanding of mixed numbers by completing given problem solving questions.
Activity Description: This is in an interactive bulletin board that is designed to encourage the students to learn about fractions.  
Directions: In the form of a Menu
Appetizer: Take a coupon from the coupon slot.
Salad: Read the pizza problem.
Main Dish: Work it out on the cutting board and use the pizzas to find the answer.
Side Dish: Write your answer on the back of the card.
Dessert: Check your answer at the hostess table.
